In August 2022, the Faculty of Engineering with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning Diponegoro University successfully organized GIS Training and Skill Testing for mapping in 8 days. This activity is carried out in order to improve the skills of the Faculty of Engineering students in the spatial analysis.
The training and skill test activities were attended by 100 students of the Faculty of Engineering at least in semester 5 which were divided into 4 batches (25 students per batch). Each batch consists of a material presentation session on the first day and a skills test session on the second day. The presentation and skill tests were carried out by 8 lecturers from the Geomatics Laboratory who were assisted by assistants. The skill test in batch 1 (8-9 August) was conducted by Dr. Anang Wahyu Sejati ST MT and Dr. eng. Maryono ST MT, batch 2 (10-11 August) conducted by Widjonarko ST MT and Sri Rahayu SSi MSi, batch 3 (15-16 August) conducted by Dr. Yudi Basuki ST MT and Prof. Dr.rer.nat Imam Buchori ST, the last batch 4 (17-18 August) was conducted by Prof. Dr.sc.agr. Iwan Rudiarto, ST, MSc and Dra. Bitta Pigawati, Dipl. GE, MT.
After completing a series of training and skill testing, students who pass will receive a certificate of GIS skills for mapping. It is hoped that this training will be able to improve the skills of students as an added value and provision in implementing knowledge in the professional world in the future.
